Have you been thinking about signing your daughter up for Girl Guides but aren't sure if you can commit to the time and cost? What if you could try it out first? Well, until the end of June, Girl Guides of Canada is making is super easy to try it out for free!
How does it work? Girls who are between five and 17 years old are invited to join the guiding unit near where they live (as long as that group has room for new members).
This trial run applies to Sparks, Brownies, Guides, Pathfinders and Rangers in Ontario only.
To sign up for a trial, you'll need to fill out an online registration form.
There's absolutely no cost for trying Girl Guides out, but your daughter won't have all the same benefits as someone with a full membership. Still, she'll have a chance to make new friends learn different skills and participate in volunteer projects to help out the community.
Not every Girl Guides unit in Ontario participates in this program, so just keep that in mind when selecting locations that work for you. The one closest to you might not be an option, but you can select up to three units in your area when you register.
Looks like this is only available in Ontario :(
If you know someone who is already in a troop they often have bring a friend night! Just as an FYI
, have you heard about bring a friend? I'm interested for Jessica but am reluctant to commit to a full year!
Often the groups are open to having a girl try it out for a night or two. You would just need to get a hold of the leader. Ivy LOVES being involved.
Cass was sad she aged out.
