If you have the Kraft Heinz Baby Strained Puree Prunes in your cupboard - don't feed them to baby! A recall was just issued and this favourite remedy for constipation (and my son's personal favourite baby food) could pose risk for your little one. They have been pulled from the marketplace for possible presence of rubber.
If you have the Heinz Baby Prunes - they should not be consumed. You can return them to your local grocery store where they are purchased, or simply throw them out. The products included in this recall are the Heinz Strained Prunes in 128 ml size. The best before date will be 2017 JN 10, and the UPC will be 0 575330 7.
There has been one reported incident related to this recall and to the consumption of this product. This is actually what triggered the recall. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is conducting an investigation, and more baby foods by Heinz may be recalled as a result. So be sure to keep your eyes and ears peeled for the products involved before feeding your little one.
It is quite alarming, actually, that rubber could somehow end up in the food that we trust for our little ones. Will this inspire you to make your own with a Baby Bullet or something?
