So the folks over on Twitter have been going a bit mad about Earth Hour, there seems to be new tweets about it every few minutes, even just in my friends’ tweets.
If you don’t know what Earth Hour is, you can read a bit more on the EarthHour.org site. You can “vote earth” by simply switching off your lights today, Saturday the 28th of March 2009, at 8.30pm. No matter what time zone you are in, it should be at 8.30-9.30pm local time. I’m going to try turning off everything in my house – even the computer (shock horror)!!
There are various things you can do on their website too. Like take photos and share them on flickr, videoing your event, blogging. Check out zimonski’s photo on Flickr, showing Hong Kong before and after. That’s quite a difference!
So tonight at 8.30pm, wherever you are, wherever you may be, just turn out the lights! Show your support! Thanks for the pic gravityx9.
UPDATE: So I tried to turn out all the lights, turn off the computers etc etc. But I got really hungry! I ended up cooking dinner by candlelight. Not a good idea!
