I can't believe it. There is yet another recall on a food product due to Listeria Monocytogenes. This time, the recall involves Dr. Praeger's Black Bean Veggie Burgers - so if you buy these or know anyone that buys these, watch out!
There have been so many recalls due to Listeria in the recent past - fortunately, all of the related recalls are also listed in the link I mentioned above. The products included in this particular recall were only distributed in Ontario and Quebec, but the other Listeria recalls can cause issues for Canada in entirety.
If you do have a box of these recalled veggie burgers, do not eat them. If you have already eaten them, call your doctor. Listeria is nothing to joke about - and food contaminated with listeria monocytogenes may not appear spoiled or smell spoiled. Yet, it can still seriously make your sick. Symptoms are many - including vomit, nausea, fever, muscle aches, headaches, neck stiffness. Pregnant ladies - you could even have a stillbirth if you eat something contaminated with listeria. So if you own these burgers - return them for a refund or store credit. Or even just throw them out!
