Easter Egg Kits can be expensive. I had a browse through Walmart's Easter section today and was not impressed with the prices at all. I decided to go home and research how to make my own Easter Egg Dye - and here we have it!
Here's what you will need:
- water
- vinegar
- food colouring
Let's get started then! This is a great way to skip out on buying those tablets. Plus, you probably have all of these supplies already. For each colour you will need 10 drops of food colouring (use more or less for different bold levels), 1 teaspoon of white vinegar, and 1/2 cup boiling water. Combine the ingredients in a bowl.
Then you can grab some hard-boiled eggs in dip them in the dye for 3-5 minutes. Extend the time for richer results. Then place them resting on an egg carton to dry. I learned the hard way not to simple leave them on paper towel.
