We all love splurging once in a while on luxury beauty products but what if you didn't have to? I wanted to share my absolute favourite products that can be found in drug and grocery stores, not just the prestige beauty counter at the mall department store.
NYX Pore Filler ($16)
NYX's Pore Filler is a god-send. If you spend $35+ on Benefit's Pore-fessional, you need to stop! It's a primer-type product that smooths your pores, blurs imperfections and leaves a great matte finish. It's weightless on skin and won't clog pores. Grab this stuff from the NYX website (free shipping on $45 or more) or from your local Shoppers Drug Mart.
L'Oreal True Match Concealer($10.76)
L'Oreal's True Match Concealer is easy to find at Walmart and drugstores and you'll want to hunt it down! It's a liquid concealer that comes with a brush applicator. It blends smoothly and evenly and feels very light but provides great coverage. It has a matte finish and won't crease around your eyes.
e.l.f. Cream Eye Liner($3.97)
We all know how fantastic e.l.f. is for a great budget beauty buy but if you love products like Bobbi Brown's Long Wear Gel Eyeliner that run you $30+ every time, you must check out e.l.f.'s Cream Eye Liner. It's smudge-proof and water-resistant and creates clean lines. You can find e.l.f. everywhere, including Walmart, and I've even seen it at the checkout counter at Old Navy!
CeraVe Eye Repair Cream($18.99)
OK, you will
love me for this one. You can spend upwards of $100 on eye creams at the department store (Lancôme, Estée Lauder, La Mer, Guerlain... I could go on) but what if I told you there is one for just $19 at places like Walmart and Well.ca? CeraVe Eye Repair Cream is fragrance-free (super important for around the eye) but also contains high-end, impressive ingredients like niacinamide, hyaluronic acid and ceramides. It's a thick lotion that provides great hydration but isn't greasy. This is a true find!
L'Oreal Paris Brow Stylist Definer($9.96)
Get those eyebrows in order or make a bold statement with L'Oreal Paris' Brow Stylist Definer that costs less than $10. If you're a fan of Anastasia Beverly Hills brow products but are sick of paying the premium prices, grab one of these and save big! It's a dual-ended brow pencil with a fine retractable tip on one end and a soft spoolie brush to groom brows on the other. And the colour stays put!
NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss($8)
Another awesome, inexpensive product from NYX—think MAC's Lip Glass. It has a smooth texture that feels rich and emollient but isn't sticky! How often have you cursed lip gloss when your hair gets stuck to your lips? Bonus: there are a ton of shades. Find it online or at Shoppers Drug Mart.
So, as I said, looking amazing doesn't have to cost a week's grocery bill. These are some of my favourite finds—what are yours? What hidden gems have you found at the drugstore?
