It's holiday picture time and that means you need a new camera. Even if you don't NEED one, it's a good excuse to get one, right? You're welcome.
I've said it a million times before: I am not a photo guy. I know, on a technical level, what numbers mean what and what numbers mean a good camera but I don't have the artistic side down. I can tell you, technically, how to take a good picture but ask my wife if I can actually perform the task and she'll laugh. That being said, this is, on paper, a good camera. It is a sub-$1000 camera so it isn't packed out with all the latest features but it is good enough.
The critics and users reviews that are aggregated on GDGT.com seem to like it too, giving it a 8.4/10 and an 8.5/10 respectively. The GDGT people like it too as is evidenced by this blurb:
Canon's Rebel T4i shoots great stills and HD video, has a very useful articulating touchscreen LCD, and includes one of the best and fastest autofocus systems available in its price range. It also has a great mix of easy presets and manual controls, making it a very good option for point-and-shoot users looking to upgrade to a DSLR. If you already have a recent Canon DSLR, like the Rebel T3i, there's little reason to upgrade, but if you're looking for your first DSLR, the T4i is a very good option.
The deal says shipping is free to some locations and apparently supply is limited.
