This is a great freebie that teachers are going to want to definitely take advantage of this weekend! On Sunday, September 8th, the Toronto Zoo is offering free admission to all teachers and one guest. Admission is regularly $28 per adult, so you could technically save yourself $56.
The freebie isn't totally without a little work on your part. You will have to attend one 15-minute educational session, which will present to you the ways that you can use the Toronto Zoo to enrich your students. Your guest can be anyone, including your spouse or child, but the zoo asks you to consider bringing along your EA, ECE or CYW. Another option would be to bring along an aspiring teacher in high school or university. If you are bringing your children, they can't attend the educational session, so you'll need another adult for that 15 minutes.
You have to pre-register for one of the times available before you go, at the link above. You'll need all your teacher qualification numbers and other information to register, including a valid school board email address. You'll also need to show I.D. on the day of the event. Read all of the F.A.Q.s here.
You also have the opportunity to win yourself a free trip for your class and a complimentary gift.
You will have to pay for parking, which is $10.
