Get with the times and get the Samsung Galaxy Gear Fit smartwatch for a $120 discount at The Source. Instead of its regular price of $219.99, it can be yours for just $99.99!
Features
- 1.63" super AMOLED screen
- Dust & weather resistant
- Alarm notifications for messages, e-mails, phone calls etc.
It also comes with the required lithium ion battery, which is then rechargeable with the Samsung charger that is included. The watch also comes with a charging cradle, which should be perfect for placing on the night stand or anywhere else in the house.
Even cooler is that you can actually also place and accept calls with the watch. Although my initial reaction was to think that this would be useful for individuals in a work setting, I actually do think it could also be useful for just about anyone, but especially moms and dads who are constantly on the go. There is nothing more challenging than trying to located your phone amongst a pile of dirty laundry or with hands full of groceries.
Gear Fit only alerts you to calls. You must take the call on the phone. Can also reject calls from the Gear Fit. Pretty much just alerts or notifies you, so you don't need to dig for your phone everytime.
I constantly misplace my phone, so the fact that this watch could alert me when I'm out of range of it is definitely a nice feature to have.
Price Comparison
The only other place I found this watch is at B&H Photo Video for $149.95 along with duties and customs as it would ship from the US.
As for the Samsung Gear 2 smart watch, the next model in the series, the cheapest I have found it anywhere else is at Amazon, where it's on sale for $164.99 from a regular retail price of $249.99. Both Best Buy and Future Shop also have this smartwatch for $199.95. If you're wondering which watch to get, then Mike Plant's "Gear 2 versus Gear Fit - which is the top gear?" should be helpful. Essentially, it really comes down to what you're looking for. While both watches can be used for fitness, the Gear 2 has additional features like a camera and voice recognition, though personally, I would never see myself using the former as I prefer to use my iPhone's better camera.
