Although Halloween is seven months away, kids can't resist getting dressed up. My youngest son has a huge dress-up box, which he puts to good use on a daily basis. I think his favourite present to get would be a costume. He is also in love with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, so I was very excited to see costumes from them regularly $49.99, now $24.99 at Sears right now.
My son is actually in love with Mikey, but Leonardo might do. Unfortunately, only sizes 8 and 10 are available so one of his older brothers might like this costume for next Halloween (or when he secretly plays dress up too). Scouring the web, I found this was a terrific bargain, with it being $46 at Walmart. Even if you only bought the costume and had to pay for shipping from Sears because you didn't reach their $99 minimum, the $7.50 you'll add will still make Sears cheaper than Walmart's price.
Of course, every little girl has her Elsa and Anna fantasies and a costume is a great way to let her be that Frozen princess for a day (or more). Regularly $39.99, it is now $19.99.
If your little girl is past Frozen and Monster High is on her mind, check out the Clawdeen Wolf deluxe Monster High costume. Regularly $59.99, now $29.99. The rest of the Monster High team is also there if your child likes different characters.
While many of these costumes come in the larger sizes, I did find this Strawberry Shortcake kid's deluxe costume at Sears, that was regularly $59.99 and now $29.99.
What I like about this sale is that the costumes are the big names that the kids love and will most likely still love in October if you are saving them for Halloween. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have been around for so long, I already know my son won't be disappointed in a few months if I tell him he'll be Michelangelo this year. The same goes for guys like Darth Vader and Captain America, who are also on sale.
