The blu-ray set contains 8 movies, I’m just going to list them here for your viewing ease, along with their IMDB scores:
- Inglorious Basterds – 8.3
- Pulp Fiction – 9.0
- Kill Bill 1 & 2 – 8.2 & 8.0
- Reservoir Dogs – 8.4
- Jackie Brown – 7.5
- Death Proof – 7.1
- True Romance – 8.0
There are some absolute Tarantino classics in there, such as Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs. Can you see a trend in the IMDB scores though – they’re all super high! The lowest was Death Proof with a score of 7.1 which I would agree with, I actually didn’t really enjoy that particular movie.
There are also a lot of added features in these discs, such as a “20 Years of Filmmaking” Featurette. I’d be interested to see a few of those.
I did however, LOVE Pulp Fiction. I’ve seen it sooooo many times. Additionally, when I was a teenager, I had a CD of the movie soundtrack, which I would constantly play on repeat. I know all the songs off by heart, and it’s probably one of my favourite movie soundtracks of all time. Whenever I’m out having a few drinks with friends and Son of a Preacher Man comes on, you can often hear me drunkenly bellowing the lyrics. :) Billy ray was a preacher’s son…
As for prices elsewhere, this particular Tarantino blu-ray box set isn’t sold online at many other Canadian retailers. I did spot it for $75 @ Best Buy though. If you know a fan of Tarantino, this could be an idea for a great Christmas gift. Additionally, there’s an amazing one sheet of the movie here at Allposters.ca. Love it.
