Staples Canada: Canon Laser Multifunction Printer $99.92 (reg. $249.92)

Staples Canada: Canon Laser Multifunction Printer $99.92 (reg. $249.92)

Staples Canada has some great deals online right now.  One of the really good deals is their Canon imageClass laser multifunction printer which is on sale for 67% off the regular price.

This Printer is on sale for just $99.92 (regular price is $249.92).  It has some great features:

  • Print: Up to 26ppm, Copy: Up to 26cpm, Scan: Up to 9600 x 9600 dpi interpolated, Fax: Up to 33.6kbps
  • Duplex Versatility - printing, copying (1 to 2), and receiving faxes
  • Built-in Ethernet port for network printing, PC faxing and scanning
  • Single Cartridge System for cost-efficient supplies replenishment
  • Efficient energy saving mode and Energy Star qualified
  • 1-year limited warranty

I like that it has a single cartridge system because that will save money in the long run on ink cost.  It can be quite pricey and it is a huge bonus that it only has a single cartridge. I did some price comparison to some of the other stores that carry this printer and found that Staples had the absolute best price.  I found the printer at Future Shop on for $129.99.  I also found it at Best Buy Canada for almost the same price as Staples Canada but Staples beat them out by a few pennies.

I find the name of this printer to be very deceiving. This printer is NOT a color printer, it only a black and white printer. Since it's black and white it's going to be a single cartridge, the need for other cartridges is mainly only when you need color. I ended up getting a deal on a clearance model Canon MF8350CDN for $149.99 which is color.

I have had a Cannon ip1200 for 10 years, and it has functioned well. Now, the used ink tray is full, and I am told that this is a death sentence. Now, I have to put a perfectly good printer into a landfill or recycling facility just because a very small part is not replaceable. This is almost frustrating enough to make me take Cannon off my shopping list. we are destroying our planet with consumerism. Maybe Cannon can be the one to start a new trend. C'mon, Cannon, what gives here?
