If you're a Beauty Insider member, you might have received an email from Sephora yesterday. I opened mine right away, because the subject line promised something pretty exciting: upcoming changes to the program. I'm a Rouge member, but it looks like many of the new perks will apply to everybody, no matter your tier.
Sephora pretty much sums it up perfectly when they say: "You know that shiny-happy, gotta-try-it feeling you get when you see those black and white stripes? That’s how you’ll feel when you see all the new, improved, and already great benefits we have lined up for you—coming April 30." And let me tell you, I'm pumped.
What is Beauty Insider Cash?
Arguably the most impressive change involves something members have asked about for a while. It looks like our prayers are finally being answered, because Sephora plans to launch Beauty Insider Cash. Basically, you'll be able to use your hard-earned points to save money on purchases. Once the program upgrade goes live, you can trade in 500 points for $10 off an order. I knew there was a reason I stockpiled those 3,200 points!
What is the new Sephora free shipping policy?
I was also pretty excited to see that Sephora is changing their shipping policy for Beauty Insider members. Starting on April 30, shoppers on the Beauty Insider tier will receive free standard shipping on $50. That's nothing new, but here's where things really get good: people at the VIB level will score free shipping on $35 purchases, and anybody who has reached Rouge status will receive FREE shipping with every single purchase.
What else has changed about the Beauty Insider program?
Honestly, those two modifications would have been enough, but Sephora has a few more treats in store for us. The other changes involve points. Specifically, they plan to introduce new events where you can exchange your points for savings. And soon, you'll be able to take part in Point Multiplier Events, where Beauty Insider members can score twice the points. VIB members will receive triple, and anybody at Rouge gets quadruple.
When is the next Spring Savings Event?
These changes weren't the only thing Sephora announced in that email. If I could get a drumroll ... the Spring Savings Event returns in April 2020! That's just a month (and a bit) away, and Beauty Insider members will score their usual 10% off most items, VIB members will receive and 15% off, and Rouge members get 20% off.
