When you sign up for Rogers Alerts you will receive a one-time credit of $5 on your wireless bill.
First off, let us cover the fine print. This service is only available to Rogers Wireless Postpaid customers. You will receive a one-time $5 credit on one of your next two Rogers Wireless bills, as long as your Rogers Alerts account remains active for at least 30 days. After 30 days you can cancel it and keep your $5.
Now, Rogers Alerts is a funky little program. They will send you text messages with deals for stores you are passing by. Walking by a Starbucks? Maybe they have a $2 latte deal on before 2pm which you don't know about. This could be an awesome little thing to help you get better deals. Rogers Alerts will only send you up to five text messages a week, and you can choose the categories that most interest you so that you won't get offers on oil changes when you would prefer shoes.
I am not a Rogers' customer, but if I was I would be signing up for this. It is certainly worth trying out for 30 days just to get your essentially free $5.
