Bargainmooser Frank has emailed us to tell us about an in-store deal from Chapters Indigo. They are selling the original Kobo ebook reader for only $99, while quantities last.

Here's what Frank says about this offer:

The original Kobo eReader (without wi-fi) is now just $99 while quantities last but it’s only available in store and selection will vary. May be a good deal if you don’t mind connecting with USB to transfer ebooks.

And the terms and conditions from the email:

While quantities last. $99 price applies only to non-Wi Fi Kobo eReaders in porcelain and black. Does not apply to Kobo Wireless eReaders. Valid in-store only.

My fellow Bargainmoose author Avigayil has the Kobo ebook reader, and I believe she's very happy with it. She made a few comments about it on the last Kobo Reader post. I have the Sony ebook reader which is quite a bit more expensive. But I haven't see the two side by side to compare features.

I LOVE my Kobo! I am only disappointed I didn't get it for $99. :p

It's not just the wi-fi that's different. The 2nd gen with wifi also includes 2x better contrast greyscale (16 vs 8) and has improvments in loading times and page turning. It's worth the extra $50 for these features!
