While reading a few recent email newsletter from various Canadian companies, I noticed that there were some special offers on netbook computers. If you've been keeping your eye out for one of these devices, here's a bit of a roundup of some offers and a bit of a basic spec on a few models, all under the $300 price point:
- Dell:Inspiron Mini 10 Laptop from $279 (1.66GHz Intel Atom Processor N450, 10.1" screen, 1GB DDR2 SDRAM, 160GB HDD)
- The Source:Acer Aspire One netbook for $279.99 (1.6GHz Intel Atom N270, 10.1" screen, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD)
- Futureshop: Gateway LT Series for $279.95 (1.6GHz Intel Atom Processor N270, 10.1" screen, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD)
- Tigerdirect: Asus Eee PCfor $229.97 (800MHz Intel Celeron M, 8.9" screen, 512MB RAM, 8 GB SSD)
- Canada Computers: Acer Aspire One netbook for $279.99 (Intel Atom Z520 1.33GHz, 11.6" screen, 1GB DDR2, 160GB HDD)
- Best Buy: Acer netbook for $299.99 (1.66GHz Intel Atom N450, 10.1" screen, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD)
Note that the above are all fairly basic models, the lowest prices I could spot from various Canadian stores. If you're spending a bit more, you're obviously going to get a better specification, perhaps better speed, memory and storage. It's worth doing a bit of research before you make your purchase.
