Moores Canada is running their Suit Drive and currently asking for donations of good condition professional items. In return, they will give you a voucher for 50% off your next purchase.
The suit drive is collecting business clothing and shoes to donate to local charity organizations across the country to help provide the basics need for re-entering the workforce. While Moores calls this their 'Suit Drive,' they are looking for more than just suits. You can donate:
- Suits
- Sport coats
- Dress pants
- Casual pants
- Dress shirts
- Collared shirts
- Vests
- Dress shoes
- Sweaters
- Jackets
- Long coats
- Raincoats
- Ties and other accessories
- Women’s professional clothing and accessories
This is the perfect time to clean out your own or your partner's closet of any ill-fitting dress shirts, pants, or coats. Anything that is too small, too long, too short, or too big you can then put in a bag or box and bring to your local Moores store. In thanks for your donation, you will then receive a voucher for 50% off your next purchase at Moores. There are some conditions, but those will be found on the coupon itself.
Moores is hoping to gather 50,000 pieces of clothing by the end of this month. Unfortunately, they are nearly 15,000 pieces short of their goal at this time so I hope that we can help. I know my husband has a pile of dress shirts that are too big for him, and a sports coat, so I will be donating them this week. I hope to rummage through his ties and clean those out too. There are so many ties I have never seen him wear in the four years we have been married. That is probably because I hate about 80% of them. Either way, someone else could probably wear one and get a new job with it instead of having the ties taking up space in our closet.
Women, if you have dress pants, jackets, or professional skirts then you can also help this drive. While Moores only sells menswear, they are collecting some women's business attire to donate.
The 50% off coupon is a nice way to fill in any holes in your wardrobe as well. Perhaps you have many dress shirts but not enough pants; pick up a few pairs and receive 50% off. I have shopped at Moores before with friends, and they tend to be a good balance between price and quality.
