There are some really great deals on building block sets at Toys R Us right now. I picked out this Mega Bloks - Skylanders - Cut Throat Carnival (95486) kit that was $22.99 and is now on sale for just $10. In store pickup is available for free, or orders of $49+ will ship for free.
The building set gives your child 215 pieces of mega Bloks to play with for just $10. Your child gets to build an evil carnival and defeat the evil Troll. The set comes with two action figures: Wildfire and Kaos. Wildfire has a micro dart launcher and stunt sticks. Your child will also receive a mystery mini villain - who knows who/what that will be!
This set is great for the child who enjoys Skylanders and likes to build things. As per usual, Mega Bloks are compatible with other building blocks like LEGO and these kits can be used to expand your child's current building block collection. Mix and match pieces with other Mega Bloks building sets for a unique carnival experience. Either way, i think this is a great price as you are paying just $10 for over 200 pieces of building blocks.
This same set currently costs $39.95 fulfilled by Amazon Canada. I could not find this building set elsewhere in Canada, but Mega Bloks' has an estimated retail value of $19.99 USD marked on the toy. Given our exchange rate, it is a few dollars more Canadian.
I checked out a few postal codes, and it appears that there is a good probability of free in-store pickup if you live near a Toys R Us. I don't think it is worth the shipping costs so either pick up in store or load up on other $20 building block sets.
