Lowe's Canada is offering a little incentive to start your Christmas shopping early - receive 40% off Christmas lights and more with free shipping.
Technically you could get no name Christmas lights for a tiny bit cheaper. However, these Christmas lights are Holiday Living and GE brand lights, which should be a better quality than no name brand lights. Thus, for the nominal amount more you are paying with this deal - I think the brand name lights are the better way to go.
Regularly priced at $12.99 each, you can purchase strings of 100-count mini Christmas lights for just $7.79. Choose from either the Holiday Living 100-Count Mini Clear Christmas lights or the Holiday Living 100-Count Mini Multicolor. Compared with other brands like Home Accents Holiday, which Home Depot sells 200 minis for $19.97, this is a good deal for name brand lights.
GE, also known as General Electric, is a household name and really makes quality goods. They are responsible for the fancier bulbs that Lowe's has on sale right now and that you can purchase for 40% off. These bulbs are all C5 in size and I love the beveled surface on them. They are made for outdoor use and are more durable. They stand up to the cold and can handle a Canadian winter for sure. All the GE C5 bulbs were $14.99 and are now only $8.99. Choose from:
- 50-Count Indoor/Outdoor LED C5 - Multi
- 50-Count Indoor/Outdoor LED C5 - Warm Clear
- 50-Count Indoor/Outdoor LED C5 - Blue
- 50-Count Indoor/Outdoor LED C5 - Cool Clear
- 50-Count Indoor/Outdoor LED C5 - Red
You can also use them indoors if you like. There are two different types of 'clear' bulbs so they require a second look. I highly prefer the cool clear as it is more of an ice blue clear. The warm clear looks somewhat odd to me.
All of these lights are currently 40% off and qualify for free shipping. There are a few other things for sale (including other lights and decorations) in their little impromptu Christmas sale section. However, the discounts are much lower - more around 25% off for the rest of the items. I do think these lights are worth picking up early, as they are a good price and quality brands that should last you many seasons. Christmas lights are one of my favourite things about Christmas; I hope to see many houses lit up this year.
