Koodo has an exceedingly generous offer on for residents of Manitoba and Saskatchewan only. Score unlimited minutes across Canada and 5 GB of data for just $48 per month. In every other province, the plan costs $88 per month!
This offer is only available for the provinces of Manitoba and Saskatchewan - the rest of us are out of luck. That totally sucks as I would give my home internet connection up for a plan like this (and then just tether my computer to my phone).
Now, this plan includes all of these juicy benefits:
- Unlimited Canada-wide anytime minutes
- 5 GB of data
- Additional data $10/GB
- Unlimited Evenings and Weekends
- Unlimited text & picture messaging
- Call Display
- Voicemail
- Unlimited Canada-wide Family Calling
- Call Waiting and Conference Calling
Essentially, it would be very hard ever to go over this plan. 5 GB of data is very generous. I have 1 GB of data and, unless I am Skyping on the network, I rarely go anywhere near my max cap. That allows me to browse as much as I want away from home. With 5 GB of data, you could easily have a few Skype video calls a month - with no Wi-Fi - and never go over.
It is impossible to go over your minutes, as they are unlimited across Canada. Talk as much as you want, your $48 per month covers your talk time.
Now, this plan is available with a Tab or when you bring over your own phone. I have waxed poetic about these choices before, but I am still a strong advocate for bringing your own phone. Even if you need a new phone, it is far better to buy outright than to be contracted into an agreement that you usually need to purchase your way out of if your phone dies or you see a better deal. My Mom's phone no longer works right but she is on contract until November. An early buyout would cost her several hundred dollars. I am not sure you will find a better deal than this for these two provinces, but there is always a chance.
I really hope our Moosers from these two provinces can take advantage of this exceptional deal. I really wish they would offer this price to BC residents as well!
