Hotels.com has recently started up a rewards program where for every ten nights you sleep in a hotel booked through their company, you will get one night free.
Unfortunately, this isn't the sort of deal where you can spend ten nights in an Econo Lodge and get your free night in the Ritz-Carlton. Rather, they work out the average value of all the ten nights you’ve collected and give it back to you as a free night. The only thing you have to pay is the taxes and any extra fees. If you want to upgrade to a nicer room, you just pay the difference.
Another fine print item of note: You can’t collect or redeem nights when you pay using a discount coupon or if you’re making a package booking.
However, if you spend a lot of time sleeping in hotels due to personal travel or travel for work, this deal can come in pretty handy. It is a nice way to get something a little bit more back from your hotel stays.
