I can't believe we are already in the month of August! With a new month comes a new list of free Home Depot workshops for people young and old to take advantage of. This month, there are three different workshops to choose from, including one for kids. Like I mentioned, all of them are free to attend and participate in, and they are a great learning activity and fun social time to meet other people with the same interests.
It seems as though there are less workshops in the summer months compared to the colder months. I guess it must be because a lot of families are camping or traveling, and visiting friends and family. The three that they are offering this month, however, are all great!
Build a mini-crate pencil holder August 9th
- At this workshop, kids will learn how to build a mini-crate pencil holder using a hammer and glue. It is geared for kids ages four years old and up and all children must be accompanied by a parent. It starts at 10am and it will run for two hours. This is a great activity for Mom or Dad to bond with their child at, and have fun at the same time.
Five simple projects to enhance your bathroom August 16th
- This workshop starts at 10am and will last one hour. You will learn so many bathroom tips in this workshop. Learn how to choose the ideal faucet to meet your bathroom needs, how to repair drywall, replace grout and ceramic wall tiles, how to choose lights that are appropriate for your bathroom space and much more. A lot of the things you will learn in this workshop can be applied to other areas of your home such as the kitchen or laundry room as well, so it is a great free workshop to attend.
Painting touch ups and techniques August 24th
- They actually offered this workshop last month as well. It will start at 1pm and last for just an hour. It will teach you a variety of useful information to do with paint touch-ups and techniques. You will learn how to paint ceilings, walls, and trim, you will learn how to prepare walls and other interior surfaces for paint, and many more tips and tricks.
All of these workshops are a great opportunity to build up those home improvement and DIY skills. Some of them fill up pretty fast, so the best thing to do is book your spot ahead of time.
