Grooster Canada is similar to Groupon Canada (another group buying website) and Grooster was recently featured in the Vancouver Sun, and mentioned on GlobalTV (@23 minutes).
Here's an excerpt from a press release about Grooster:
Two local women and long time friends - an engineer and a marketing aficionado - are helping locals rediscover their city with grooster. Grooster is initially jumping into the "group/flash buying" craze that is sweeping across the US and growing internationally. Working with local social networks and local businesses, Grooster offers exclusive prices on premium restaurants, spas, events, boutiques and more in Vancouver.
Kelly-Dawn has also used Grooster, and has this Grooster review to offer:
Grooster is similar to Groupon, Canadian, and I've yet to be adequately tempted by their offerings. They have been more pricey to date, but the vendors have been very cool (bicycle shop, photographer, Zoom tooth whitening).
Generally, I'm digging them. It can be an effort not to just buy the stuff because it's such a good deal, but make sure you *need* the thing.
