Google Play Store has discounted three albums from popular artists to only 99¢ each! Given that a single song usually retails for $1.29, this is a hot deal.
The three sale albums are as follows:
Sam Smith - In The Lonely Hour (Google Play Exclusive Deluxe Edition)
I highly recommend this album. Sadly, I just bought three songs from this album on iTunes, paying well over what the entire album would cost on Google. The album includes 15 and earns an overall rating of 4.7/5 on Google Play. My favourite songs are Stay With Me, I'm Not the Only One, and Like I Can. The album has a run time around 50 minutes.
This album comes with 13 songs for a total run time of just under one hour. Nothing Was The Same ranks a solid 4.5/5 on the Google rating scale. The album is explicit (watch out little ears) but appears to be well loved. I know nothing about the artist Drake, so if you do please comment.
This is another artist I am not terribly familiar with. However, for 99¢ you are receiving 13 songs for a run time of approximately 47 minutes. This album was just released a year ago, so still fairly new. Morning Phase rates 4.3/5 stars, but with less than 800 reviews.
Now, make sure that you get directed to the Google Play store for Canada. These albums are full price at the US store right now. I found that Sam Smith's album (only one I am personally interested in) retails for $10.49 US. I also price compared these digital albums to iTunes. Here is what you would expect to pay for each album currently on iTunes:
- In The Lonely Hour - $7.99
- Nothing Was the Same - $6.99 (E)
- Morning Phase - $6.99
The Nothing Was the Same album was hard to price compare, as there are four different versions on iTunes! But I picked the one that matched the one on Google closest. There is a 'clean' version of this album but that is not the one being sold for 99¢ on the Google Play Store.
If you need a little inspiration, I have attached a YouTube video of Sam Smith singing Like I Can:
