adore the classic "Ugly" Christmas Sweaters that everyone wears come Christmas time. I honestly have about 10 of them and could do with a few more. I have never come across free patterns to make them until now, and make them I will. If you don't know how to knit, then perhaps you can hand over these free patterns to your Grandma for a similar result. Either way, the download of The Best Of The Worst Ugly Sweaters eBook is totally free.

Intermediate knitters, get your needles ready! Here is a free eBook with six different patterns to make the ever-so-popular Christmas sweaters that seem to be a wardrobe staple during the Holiday season. You are about to learn how to make a reindeer with bulging eyes, or even a Christmas tree buckling under the weight of ornaments right on a sweater. These make absolutely fab Christmas gifts, but I would keep them all to wear for myself.

There are a total of 6 different patterns available in this free eBook from KnitPicks.com. The six free ugly sweater patterns include:

  • A Reindeer
  • An Elf
  • A Snowman
  • A Christmas Tree
  • Free Flowing Ornaments on Garland
  • Festive Mantel with Stockings

You can even go all out and embellish your new ugly sweaters with 3D elements like flashing lights if you wish. Whatever you decide to do, make sure you follow the directions properly to ensure you end up with the correct sizing for your sweater. Here are some of the items you are going to need to complete this project:

  • US 7 knitting needles (or 4.5mm)
  • 24-48" circular needles or long circulars for the Magic Loop
  • Wool of the Andes Worsted Yarn (or substitute with Worsted/Heavy Worsted weight yarn)

The book will tell you which yarn is required for each sweater of course, so have a look at that before heading to your local crafts store. I suggest you shop at Michael's Arts & Crafts honestly. They always have a coupon available for some sort of discount. You can keep up with their print coupons and discounts in our Bargainmoose forum. For example, right now they have 40% off any one item, so that will save you quite a chunk of money depending on which item you use it towards.
