Well gawrsh, Mickey! Your Disneyland souvenirs are about to get an upgrade. Earlier this year, Disney announced plans to release a new line of designer mouse ears, called the Disney Parks Designer Collection. It features those signature mouse ears and headbands reimagined by designers and fashion influencers like Coach, Betsey Johnson and Heidi Klum – and the newest round of pairs is already here!
There are actually a few new hats and headbands in stock right now, including one I've been waiting to see for months. Disney teased images of the adult-sized Hipster Mickey Mouse Eat Hat when they first started promoting the collection, and you can finally scoop one up! The hat was designed by Jerrod Maruyama and is honestly pretty adorable. It sells for $58 USD, which works out to around $76.18 CAD.
And there's one more that comes to use from a galaxy far, far away. This Princess Leia Ear Headband is worthy of the general herself and features those iconic hair buns from the first movie. Ashley Eckstein, who voiced multiple characters in animated Star Wars series, designed this headband as part of Her Universe, a "fangirl fashion company" that she founded. It sells for $78 USD or $102.45 CAD.
Details about the releases are pretty scarce on the Shop Disney website, but I found out a little more when I checked out the Disney Parks Blog. Here's what we can tell you so far:
Disney will release a new limited-edition ear hat or headband every month, starting with a stars and stripes headband made in collaboration with Harveys. They'll be available to buy directly from Shop Disney or at select locations throughout the parks and resorts in California and Florida.
The full release schedule is below. We'll update it whenever Disney announces specific launch dates and collaboration inspirations. But for now, you might want to mark these on the calendar:

In the meantime, though, I can't wait to see what these other designers have in store. There's even a Mickey Mouse beanie hat coming!
