Dell Canada is offering up to $300 off a whole range of laptops from Inspiron to XPS and 15" to 17". Something for everyone and every budget!
Like I said, there are a lot of different laptops here but I want to talk about the Inspiron 15R Special Edition in specific. I actually have this laptop and it is fantastic. I've kept Windows 8 on this machine, not because Windows 8 is superfantastic, but rather because of the hardware's hooks into the OS. Specifically the touchpad. Windows 8 is very clearly a tablet OS and it does not translate well to the traditional "mouse and keyboard" computing setup. So the fine folks at Dell have turned the touchpad into a sort of mini tablet interface. You can pinch to zoom, swiping from the right edge brings up the menu, swiping from the top maximizes or fullscreens. There at a ton of cool customizable gestures. Combine this with the great feature set in the 15R SE and a fantastic price ($899.99 after $100 savings) and you get a great machine. Now I'm not saying, of course, that this is the only computer out there to integrate touchpad gestures with Windows 8 but it's just another feature to solidify the machine as a great pick.
I understand that this laptop isn't for everyone though. If you're looking for more power, I suggest checking out the XPS. I've owned an XPS and they are really amazing. I no longer need the power they offer but if you do, this is a great deal. The XPS 15 is only $1499.99 after a $200 savings. The technical support for XPS customers is better too.
