Why do you need a generator?
There are so many reasons why a generator would make your life easier and prepare you for emergencies. Remember the huge ice storm they had in Quebec that knocked out power for days? Remember the blackout of 2003 that made sure many of us didn't have power? I remember it fondly as I had to break into my house when I couldn't open my garage with my garage door opener. With our weather and storms getting more and more severe, having a backup generator is almost a must-have.
Besides my doomsdays predictions, there are other reasons a generator is a great tool to have for the ready. If you like camping, they are great to take along with you for an alternate source of power. They are great on a jobsite that might not have power close to where you need to power your tools.
This generator is CSA approved and will run for eight hours on a 50% load with a full tank. It has a low oil shut off sensor and is easy to maintain so you can pass it down to the next generation.
I didn't really find this generator for sale at stores in Canada, but I did find that Canadian Tire sells it in store and during the last sale they had on, they sold it for $400, which is quite a bit over the sale price that Costco now has it on. Besides there, I found it at quite a few stores in the U.S., like Camping World, Home Depot and Walmart.com. None of those stores even came close to Costco's sale price, which is actually rare, as I usually find the U.S. stores to have the cheaper prices (they just would cost too much to get to us, if they even ship here). I'm going to go out on a limb and say this is a pretty smoking deal.
