I LOVE tech gadgets and I know many of our Moosers do too. That is why I am bringing you a really cool deal from Chapters Canada on the perfect kitschy tech gadget that is useful too! This Eton BoostTurbine 2000 Power Bank is an external battery for your phone. It works a lot like the previous batteries we have posted but with one different: you can charge the battery without electricity. The Eton BoostTurbine 2000 external battery was $29.95 and it is now $9.95 with free shipping.
This is a super cool tech toy that would make an amazing gift for Christmas, I give everyone I know external batteries for their phones and it is amazing how many times people thank me because the battery saved them during a business call, or a call with their lover, or while they were out shopping and needed to price compare. Likewise, GPS features take a lot of battery power so some of my friends would have been lost without the external battery.
This battery is just like every other external battery in that it offers 2000 mAh of power. You connect your phone to it via a USB cable to charge. You also charge the external battery via the included cable. All those features are the same. However, if your external battery dies and you really need to make a call or text someone - then you can hand crank this unit to provide power. Choose from black or silver for your external battery.
This hand crank feature could get you out of some tight places. If you need to make a 911 call and your phone and external battery are dead (that is just when accidents happen... isn't it?) then you can hand crank this unit to get enough power to make a call. I frequently forget to charge my external battery so I am sure I would end up using the crank!
I love this item as a Christmas gift. Stick one on your partner's stocking as a hint to keep his/her phone on and charges. Parents, stick one in the stockings or under the tree for your teenagers and adult kids - reminding them to call home sometime. I adore these little devices and think these would also be a sure hit at a Christmas Party Gift Exchange. I like gifts that people will fight over owning. :)
