Today's daily deal at Audible has class! It's the winner of the 2012 National Book Award for best fiction book.
The book is normally$14.95. You save $7 so only end up paying $7.95.
I think the award kind of speaks for itself on this book. I haven't read it nor have I read any of the authors other stuff so I don't want to pass judgement on it myself. The pros seem to like it I know not everyone will be in agreement with the award of course but that's just how awards are. I know that I personally don't agree with the Oscars constant shunning of Meat Loaf, one of the best actors of our time. Anywho, here is part of the publishers description of the book:
One Sunday in the spring of 1988, a woman living on a reservation in North Dakota is attacked. The details of the crime are slow to surface as Geraldine Coutts is traumatized and reluctant to relive or reveal what happened, either to the police or to her husband, Bazil, and 13-year-old son, Joe. In one day, Joe's life is irrevocably transformed. He tries to heal his mother, but she will not leave her bed and slips into an abyss of solitude. Increasingly alone, Joe finds himself thrust prematurely into an adult world for which he is ill prepared.
