There's no sugarcoating it: school is expensive. Whether you're just starting university this fall or finishing up the final course before your degree, it's a good idea to try and save money wherever you can.
Luckily, there are TONS of student discount programs out there (like SPC) ... and one of the best of all is actually at Amazon. If you're an active student and thinking about getting an Amazon Prime membership, don't let that $7.99 a month price tag scare you – because you can join for just $3.99 a month!
Prime Student is a branch of Amazon Prime that's, well, especially for students. You get most of the same perks as standard Prime members, but you pay a LOT less for your subscription. And instead of just a one-month free trial, you get to test things out for SIX whole months before you start paying!
Most of your orders will qualify for FREE two-day shipping, and you may be eligible for same-day or one-day delivery, depending on where you live. With Prime Student, you can also stream movies and TV shows via Amazon Prime Video, access video games and store your photos online. Once that six-month free trial is up, you'll also qualify for unlimited music streaming (plus those other perks) for $3.99 per month.
Pricing is a little different in Quebec, but residents anywhere else in Canada also have the option to purchase an annual Prime Student membership outright for $39 a year, which works out to around $3.25 a month. If you already have a Prime subscription (or know you'd love one) and want to switch over to a student account, that's probably the best way to go. You just need to be enrolled in a post-secondary school to qualify.
I signed up. So awesome
