Amazon.ca: Pick Up Your Order At Over 6,200 Canada Post Locations

Have you ever taken off part of a day just to be home to receive that super important package in the mail only to miss the delivery?  Remember how it feels when no one comes?  Worried someone will take it off your doorstep?  Well, Amazon is trying to eliminate those fears with their new program "Amazon Shipping Points."  They have partnered with Canada Post and their 6,200+ locations Canada-wide as pick up points.  Now you can skip the middle man and pick up your order when it's convenient for you.

Here's how it works:

1. Place your eligible item in your shopping cart and proceed to the checkout
2. Click "Choose a Pick Up Location" when selecting a delivery address
3. Search by postal code, address, or landmark to find a location
4. Find the Post Office in your area of choices that is convent to you
5. Select "Ship to this Address"
6. Complete the order as usual

Pick Up process:

Amazon will email you when your order is ready for pick up.  Included in that email will be a unique barcode and the hours of operation of the location selected. Simply show that barcode on your mobile phone or print off the email and present along with your photo I.D. that matches the billing address on the original order.  They will hold your order for 15 days so you can pick up when it's convenient for you.  If you don't pick up your item within 15 calendar days of delivery, it will be returned to Amazon for a full refund.

Restrictions:

The item must be sold or fulfilled by Amazon.ca.  It can’t be a Subscribe-and-Save item.  It must have a length of no more than 2 meters or a length + girth of no more than 3 meters. The shipping weight should be no more than 30kg.

This is a neat new feature that other big box stores like Futureshop, Best Buy, and The Source having been doing for some time now.  It will be great to pick up your order on the way home for work or school.  It saves you the worry of having your new Macbook sitting out in the open in front of prying eyes!  I'm still waiting for a drone to deliver my package like Amazon.com has been testing in the U.S.!
