Amazon Canada has the Aukey 20000mAh Portable Charger currently on for $39.99. Use coupon code UBY53ZB2 to receive an extra $5 off, which brings the portable battery charger down to $34.99 with free shipping. There are also no taxes charged on this device.
This is a big battery for a low price. You get 20,000 mAh, which is enough to charge your tablet or phone several times over. Your average iPhone 6 will charge at least seven times and this device can provide a full charge to an iPad Air.The Aukey will charge many different brands including:
- Apple iPad
- Apple iPhone
- Samsung
- Nexus
- LG
- HTC
- Motorola
The Aukey features AIPower Technology, which automatically detects the input current of your device and charges it accordingly. The device has up to 3.1A for two ports.
Four blue LED indicators display the remaining power and there is a built-in flashlight, which actually comes in rather handy in low-light environments when trying to find things in your bag. Be careful not to turn the flashlight on while the device is not in use, as it will suck up a bit of battery.
Charging is simple: connect your phone or tablet to the battery pack and it will immediately start charging and then stop when the battery is full. Your small electronics can connect using their own USB cables and you can charge two devices at once on the Aukey. The power bank includes its own charging cable. Enjoy a 18-month warranty as well.
I could not find this device elsewhere in Canada but I did find it in the USA. Amazon.com has the device on sale for $35 USD and Newegg.com has the device on sale for $37.99 USD. Given our exchange rate, the price at Amazon.ca is better.
I also compared similarly sized units. Anker's 20000mAh bank costs $89.99. The device also has 33 customer reviews for 4.8/5 stars. Almost all reviewers were extremely impressed with the unit. One did mention that it is better as a laptop charger or something to drop in your bag rather than stick in your pocket. Evidently, the Aukey battery weighs around half a kilo.
I have never used this brand of external charger battery before, but I am always game to try new things. With good reviews and a great price, I think this power bank is worth trying.
