  The resort food is not terrible - just not creative (same items every day).. The food is restaurants or private homes is great. If you don't like seafood - you probably won't enjoy it. My wife and I had fresh lobster and the most amazing Italian food (top 5 restaurant meals ever).

  I totally agree. Food is not terrible. And gets better every visit for the past five or six years. You'll likely find bad food at the inexpensive resorts but you'll also find bad food at inexpensive restaurants in Canada. I've also had great meals in Havana. But the bottom line is, "If you're going to Cuba for a gourmet vacation you've badly researched your plans. Go to New York or Paris. But if you want sun, rum and fun - with great beaches, go to Cuba.
