We are all hiding the mail and burning our credit card statements around this time of year, right? Rather than buying some more games this year, Steam has set up seven games you can play for free. A penny saved is a penny earned, right? I wish.

No, you do not get to keep a copy of these games permanently, but you still get to play them for free and have a jolly good time doing so. It is almost as good as keeping them except it takes up less space on your hard drive in the long term. While we occasionally see the odd Free Play promotion from Steam or Origin, it is rare to have so many options.

Without further ado, here are the seven games you can choose to play for free:

School of Dragons is totally designed after How to Train Your Dragon. Therefore, if you or your kids are a big fan then this will be a sweet little game to try out. Might also keep the little eggnog hoovers out of the kitchen while you cook the Christmas turkey. The graphics look totally wicked and the dragons are incredibly accurate to the movie! I thought I would be most interested in Lost Sage, but I think School of Dragons looks better overall.

Lost Saga NA still catches my attention. Anime style characters battle it out in a fighter / brawler style game. Think the Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter arcade games from way back and you totally have the idea. Choose from 60 different characters and kick some royal butt.

Fork Parker's Holiday Profit Hike totally threw me for a loop with a name like that. After reading a bunch of comments, it appears to be a game much like Mario with a storyline around some guy trying to finance an indie game. One reviewer said:
