Originally $39.99 each, these smart plush toys are now on sale for $19.97 each. The Smart Stages Puppy and Sis toys are available in French or in English versions. Make sure you choose the correct language before buying your new smart stages plush. I price compared with Walmart where the puppy retails for $29.97 (they do not sell Sis) and with Amazon Canada where the puppy is $29.97 and the sis is $29.03 for the English versions. The French versions are a bit more expensive there. Given that Toys R Us Canada is still a good $10 cheaper than anywhere else, I figured this was a good deal.
'Smart stages' means this toy grows with your child. It has built-in technology that allows you to flip between stages to accommodate your child's learning level as they grow. Each toy - puppy or sis - comes with three learning stages.

Level one plays songs your baby will like and has phrases about body parts and colours. For example, the plush will say things like "green" and "hand" when your child pushes in the puppy's hand. Level two encourages your child to explore their plush toy. Level two expands on previous knowledge by introducing counting, letters, and more. For example, if they press on the poppy's ear, they will hear “Can you find your ears?” Level three encourages further engagement and pretend play. One reviewer said:
