Pizza Hut's "$5 bucks, $5 bucks, $5 bucks" deal is back and if you're not sure what to have for dinner this evening, then a couple of pizzas could be a good idea.
The way it works is that with the purchase of any medium or large pizza, you can then get the second, third and even the fourth medium pizza for just $5 apiece. Each additional pizza must be of equal or lesser value to the first pizza.
I was expecting Quebec to be full excluded from this deal but luckily, it's not! The only difference is that the first pizza must be a large. In the past, Quebec residents had no choice but to order their pizza from Red Berry Web but it would seem that it now works from the PizzaHut.ca site as well. I was successful in entering a Quebec address and in finding a store nearby to place the order.
Once I added a large hand-tossed meat lover's pizza to my cart, I was convinced that an extra charge would be applied towards a second medium meat lover's pan pizza but surprisingly, it wasn't. While the first pizza was $15.99, the second pizza came up to $12.99 and a $7.99 discount was applied, making the second pizza just $5.
So if you're not sure which crust to get, then I definitely recommend the pan one, especially since you won't need to pay any additional fees on the additional pizzas.
As for the pizza itself, you have the choice between one of Pizza Hut's famous crusts like Supreme Lover's, Triple Crown, Hawaiian, Chicken Caesar or you can also choose to make your own. Just keep in mind that there is no discount on the first pizza, so you may want to keep the toppings to a minimum.
At checkout, Pizza Hut will attempt to tempt you with the Ultimate Hershey's Chipits cookie. Although I have never tried it, it does look good, but I recommend instead the Hershey's chocolate dunkers. Those are my absolute favourites and they're even better if you manage to keep them warm during the time it takes you to finish the pizzas.
Don't be surprised to see a $2 delivery charge be added to your subtotal as well. This is a standard charge and you can avoid it by picking up the order at your local Pizza Hut store instead but do you really want to in this cold weather? ;)
